Well, what I didn't know was that I would be notified whenever somebody declined the invitation.
Now, I can't even explain how unmotivating and hurtful it is to receive around 20-50 declined invitations to a free show from people who you actually consider close friends. And that was in only one afternoon. I partly blame myself for being lazy and spamming my friends, but every declined invite I received was like a stab in the heart.
At one point I got angry. Like, seriously, it costs zero dollars to attend! If you people don't show up to a free show, when WILL you show up? I THOUGHT FRIENDS SUPPORTED FRIENDS! But I realized I shouldn't be mad at them because I don't know their side of the story. Maybe they work...together...at the same company...on a Saturday night...
It's a bummer because in a perfect scenario everyone would be like, "What? A FREE show by the one and only master of all there is to master, Tricia Fitz? Oh, boy, I can't miss out on this treasure of a night!" but I am 100% aware that is not in the slightest way realistic so, hey, ball's on the court and it's rolling anyway, so chest high, diaphragm strong, and let's dance.
Nonetheless, I have learned my lesson. I myself don't even like receiving those mass invites so I don't even know what I was thinking. No more spamming friends.
